Crime Research and Investigation Agency of India organisation’s wants to say about the peoples's own Rights and Duties, The Constitution gives us six fundamental rights. The following are the fundamental rights given by our Constitution.

Right to Freedom

These rights ensure the Crime Research and Investigation Agency of India (CRIAI) operates independently, ethically, and effectively within the rule of law.

  • Freedom of Investigation — CRIAI shall have the right to conduct impartial and independent research, inquiries, and investigations into crimes, corruption, and human rights violations, as permitted by Indian law.
  • Freedom of Expression — CRIAI retains the right to publish, express, and communicate findings and recommendations freely, while upholding integrity, accuracy, and legal compliance.
  • Freedom from Influence — The Agency operates free from political, commercial, or personal pressures that may compromise justice or transparency.
  • Freedom to Collaborate — CRIAI may collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and international bodies to promote research, awareness, and justice.
  • Freedom of Participation — All CRIAI members have the right to participate in its discussions, initiatives, and decision-making, ensuring inclusiveness and equality.
  • Freedom to Protect Whistleblowers — CRIAI supports and safeguards individuals who disclose crime, corruption, or rights violations lawfully and in the public interest.
  • Freedom of Awareness and Education — The Agency has the right to conduct awareness programs, campaigns, and seminars on human rights and anti-crime measures without censorship, subject to legal compliance.
  • Freedom to Maintain Confidentiality — CRIAI retains the right to protect the identities of sources, informants, and data collected during lawful investigations.

Rights

CRIAI holds the following rights while remaining strictly within the law.

  • Right to Investigate — Conduct independent research, inquiry, and analysis into crime, corruption, human rights violations, and public-safety-related topics.
  • Right to Information — Request and collect lawful information from individuals, organizations, public records, and authorities where permitted by law.
  • Right to Representation — Represent victims and affected parties in advisory or liaison capacities with governmental and non-governmental institutions.
  • Right to Protection — Seek legal protections for members and whistleblowers engaged in authorized CRIAI activities.
  • Right to Collaboration — Cooperate with police, government agencies, NGOs, civil society, media, and international partners.
  • Right to Recognition — Acknowledge and reward civil society actors and institutions that contribute to crime prevention and human-rights protection.
  • Right to Publication — Publish research, findings, policy recommendations, and awareness materials in the public interest.

Duties

CRIAI and its members are bound by the following duties and standards of conduct.

  • Duty to Uphold the Law — Operate within the Indian Constitution, statutes, and applicable legal frameworks.
  • Duty of Integrity — Maintain honesty, impartiality, and objectivity in all research and investigations.
  • Duty to Serve the Nation — Assist lawful authorities and the public in preventing crime and protecting citizens' rights.
  • Duty to Protect Human Rights — Safeguard dignity and equality of all individuals without discrimination.
  • Duty of Awareness — Run education and outreach programs to inform citizens of their rights and legal remedies.
  • Duty to Report — Produce accurate, evidence-based reports for relevant authorities and stakeholders.
  • Duty to Maintain Secrecy — Protect the privacy and security of victims, witnesses, and informants.
  • Duty to Accountability — Ensure members are answerable for decisions and actions taken on behalf of CRIAI.
  • Duty to Cooperate — Work collaboratively with lawful bodies for effective outcomes.
  • Duty of Discipline — Adhere to the CRIAI code of conduct and internal governance policies.

Implementation & Oversight

CRIAI will ensure these rights and duties are implemented through policies, training, a code of conduct, and an independent oversight or ethics panel that reviews complaints and alleged breaches.
