CRIAI Civil Defence Force

The Civil Defence Force initiative provides a structured platform for responsible volunteers to support community awareness, preparedness, emergency assistance and public safety activities in coordination with applicable authorities and established procedures.

ABOUT CIVIL DEFENCE FORCE

Civil Defence focuses on preparedness and community resilience during emergencies, disasters and situations where public assistance may be required. Volunteers can contribute through awareness, communication, first-aid support, crowd assistance and other lawful activities for which they are trained and authorized.

OUR OBJECTIVES

Public Safety AwarenessPromote awareness about emergency preparedness and responsible public conduct.
Emergency PreparednessEncourage communities to prepare for natural and other emergencies.
Volunteer SupportDevelop a responsible volunteer network for suitable community-support activities.
First-Aid AwarenessEncourage basic first-aid and emergency-response awareness through appropriate training.
Community ResilienceHelp communities understand preparedness, coordination and recovery practices.
CoordinationSupport lawful coordination with relevant authorities and organizations when required.

KEY ACTIVITIES

  • Conduct public awareness programmes on safety and emergency preparedness.
  • Organize community education sessions and preparedness campaigns.
  • Support approved awareness and assistance activities during emergencies.
  • Promote basic first-aid, evacuation and emergency communication awareness.
  • Assist with information desks, public guidance and community coordination where authorized.
  • Encourage volunteers to participate in training and capacity-building programmes.

ROLE OF VOLUNTEERS

Volunteers are expected to act responsibly, maintain discipline, follow lawful instructions and respect the rights and dignity of all individuals.

  • Follow applicable laws, safety instructions and organizational guidelines.
  • Wear authorized identification or uniform only when officially permitted.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information received during authorized activities.
  • Do not represent themselves as police, government officers or other statutory authorities unless legally authorized.
  • Immediately refer serious incidents and matters requiring statutory action to the appropriate authorities.

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

Suitable volunteers may be provided opportunities for awareness and training in areas such as emergency preparedness, first aid, public communication, disaster awareness, basic safety practices and community support.

CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Maintain honesty, discipline and professional conduct.
  • Respect human rights and treat all people equally and respectfully.
  • Do not misuse CRIAI identity cards, uniforms, name, logo or position.
  • Do not make unauthorized claims, promises or statements on behalf of any government authority.
  • Do not collect or disclose personal information except for lawful and authorized purposes.
  • Report misconduct or misuse of organizational identity through the appropriate channel.

HOW TO JOIN

Individuals interested in participating may apply through the official CRIAI membership or volunteer process. Selection, verification, training and assignment will depend on organizational requirements and applicable rules.
